Followers, I have a question for you!

Maybe especially for those who write/talk about writing/even those who don’t write but just read fiction.

One of my followers recently asked me for some advice on writing because they’re planning on participating in NaNoWriMo and they’re white but they want to make sure they have POC characters, and possibly a WOC as the main character. It’s gonna be a fantasy world/won’t take place in our real world timeline. She’s wondering if it’s alright, as a white person, to write from the perspective of a WOC character as long as she keep away from stuff like killing off all POC, only reserving full characterization to white characters, etc, or if they should stick to writing a white character as main since that’s what she knows.

I gave my own answer already, but I thought I’d ask you all too for your input!

here’s a convenient question mark: ?
